Southampton University Jazz Orchestra
8.30pm Tuesday 16th February
SUJO has become recognised as one of the most successful and creative bands of its type in the country, performing at the Royal Albert Hall and the Montreux, North Sea and Vienne Jazz Festivals. Star musicians who have guested with them include Andy Sheppard, Julian Joseph and Guy Barker.
Aged 18 - 25, they play a mix of swing, funk, Latin and ballads, from Ellington Classics to modern Gordon Goodwin charts. All 20 or so members of SUJO rehearse and perform while doing their degrees, which just show the love they have for jazz. So come along tonight and see why the future of jazz looks pretty assured.
Tickets on the door: £10 (Members £7, Students £6).
