    The New Jazz CouriersMartin Drew, drums; Mornington Lockett, tenor; Jim Hart, vibes; Steve Melling, piano; Paul Morgan, bass. Five top players in a tribute to the original Jazz Couriers, the group formed by Tubby Hayes and Ronnie Scott in the 1950s.

    Dixieland Tribute to Alex WelshRoy Williams, trombone; John Barnes, reeds; Enrico Tomasso, trumpet; Nick Dawson, piano; Len Skeat, bass; Alan Ganley, drums. The Alex Welsh Band was one of the finest dixieland groups the UK ever produced. Roy and John spent 12 years together in the band, and tonight recreate this band’s wonderful sound.

    Matt Wates SextetMatt Wates, alto; Martin Shaw, trumpet; Steve Kaldestad, tenor; Leon Greening, piano; Malcolm Creese, bass; Matt Home, drums. This hard bop group, based on the 50s style of Cannonball Adderley has won many awards.

    Mark Crooks QuintetMark Crooks, clarinet and tenor; Colin Oxley, guitar; John Pearce, piano; Dave Chamberlain, bass; Steve Brown, drums. Mark Crooks is a superb reeds player. His warm tenor style has touches of Zoot Sims and Scott Hamilton, while his clarinet playing is reminiscent of Benny Goodman and Buddy DeFranco.

    Steve Waterman SextetSteve Waterman, trumpet; Dave O’Higgins, tenor; Mark Nightingale, trombone; Nick Weldon, piano; Andy Cleyndert, bass; Clark Tracey, drums. Led by one of our finest trumpeters, this band of top flight musicians performs the compositions of the American tenor player Benny Golson, who wrote some of the best loved themes in jazz, including ‘I Remember Clifford,’ ‘Killer Joe’ and ‘Blues March.’
