Ray d'Inverno's
Mambo Santamaria Generation Band

8.30pm Tuesday 8th June

Mambo picture
Southampton-born pianist, and one of the founders of our jazz club, Ray d’Inverno, formed this exciting band in the summer of 2007, to bring together the best of the younger generation with more experienced players from the South to create Latin music with fire and passion.

Ray says: “In fact the band has members from every decade between the ages of 20 and 80 - and it is the 80 year old vibes player who always steals the show with his high energy playing!”

The group plays music from the pens of Tito Puente, Paquito D’Rivera, Mongo Santamaria, Joao Donato, Caesar Portilo de la Luz, Mario Bauza and Cal Tjader, among others, as well as originals from members of the band.

So come and groove to the carnival experience of "Mambo Santamaria"!

Tickets on the door: £13 (Members £10, Students £6).
