Brandon Allen Quintet
8.30pm Tuesday 16 June 2009

Brandon Allen tenor sax
Ross Stanley keyboard

Hard-blowing Australian tenor player Brandon Allen has been resident in the UK for over five years. In that time he has played with such stars as Guy Barker, Alan Barnes, Dave Newton, Clair Martin, Stan Tracey, Pete King, Dave O’Higgins, Gerald Presencer, Martin Shaw, Bobby Wellins, Jim Mullen and Don Weller.

Jazzwise writer Tony Hall has described him as ‘the most exciting tenor player in Britain today,’ playing fiery bop in the Rollins/Coltrane classic style.
